Back in the day Benidorm was just a fishing village, but after a while it has become one of the most favorite destinations in the east of Spain. Tourists from all over the world come to the Costa Blanca to enjoy its sunny weather, white-sand beaches, clear water and numerous of attractions Benidorm has to offer.
In addition to the wonderful weather states and comfortable stay options, Benidorm is well-known for its uproarious rainbow celebration. Benidorm Pride was established in 2000 as a small event, but through the eight years has grown into the loudest queer festival in the area with an estimated 15,000 attendants in 2017. Seven days of events and parties are being held in and around the Gay Village in Benidorm each year.
This year’s celebration kicks off on September 3, 2018. During the first two days, gay party-goers will be able to spend the day on one among many Costa Blanca’s beaches and explore the gay nightlife in the old town by night. Benidorm’s gay village houses more than 30 bars and restaurants. The official opening party of Benidorm Pride festival will be on September 5, 2018, at the Mirador del Castillo. Local artists, DJs and drag queens will take to the stage in the breathtaking location that night. White Party on the next day will continue the on-going celebration. The weekend will start with the Sandia Pool Party at Discoteca Penelope from 15:00 on September 7, 2018. By night, wear as little as you want – as long as it’s black! – at the Black Party at the main Pride auditorium. The main Pride parade will be held on September 8, 2018 along the Levante beach. This year, it culminates in a major performance at the main stage with an open air party from the 19:00 and a tribute-performances to the biggest celebrities, like Pink, Dua Lipa, Little Mix and others, from 21:00. The final day of a week-long festival will be marked by a closing party at Avenida Bilbao, Levante beach from 20:00.
