Café Mankind

Description

Café Mankind is close by the Rijksmuseum, and the Antiques Quarter around the Spiegelgracht is only a few blocks away. This café is secluded beside the slow-moving waters of the Lijnbaansgracht. Mankind possesses its own canal-side terrace, patio and landing stage, so it is possible to get there by boat. Café Mankind is a welcoming stop on your visit to Amsterdam . Ideally situated close to the Rijksmuseum, it is the perfect place to take a rest and recover from your sight seeing and partying or as a meeting point for friends.  The café, owned and run  by Frank for nearly twenty-five years, offers a warm and friendly welcome at any time of the year. In the summer you can relax on our canal side terrace or street side patio; and when it gets colder, the café is a snug and warm haven from the chill of the canals.

No big car roads nearby, only the bicycles - so it is a really quiet place. the staff does speak English really well - and that concerns waiters, the barmen - and the owner.. that latter one was taking the part in all the…

Very simple and a friendly place! I liked its location ( it is situated near the canal, so it is possible to feel the smeel of the water, to feel a light breeze during the hot day, and just to admire the view), and I liked its design very much ( it is made in the sea thematics, that remembers you about travelling), that is made in a simple way, but with a taste, that has its charm too! I…
